Get Ready for the Second Half of the Semester!

Today in class, we'll talk about some of the highlights from Chapter 4 in your text. There is a lot of good information in here, and the rest of this text, for you to use when you begin writing lesson plans (if you aren't already),

I'm going to give you a demonstration of a few sites: Prairie Public, Rubistar and QuizStar. You will get an opportunity to work on these on your own, as well.

Schedule change: As you know, your assignment for this Thursday was to bring a collection of photos to class, in electronic format. This is going to be pushed forward to next week Tuesday, March 18th.

This week, Thursday, we are going to have lab time. This means that if you get me the assignments below BEFORE class starts at 9 AM on Thursday, you do not have to come to class. If you do not, or need help completing the assignments, you will be expected to be in class at 9 AM Thursday, March 13th.

Assignments for Thursday, March 13th:
  • Set up an account in Rubistar. Create a rubric with 5 categories for assessing 4-5 grade students with map making. Submit the rubric to your instructor.
  • Set up an account in QuizStar. Using the sample true and false quiz that I give you in class, create a True or False quiz for a 5th grade class. Submit the quiz to your instructor.
  • Add three entries to your tech blog - one for Rubistar, one for QuizStar and one for PBS Teachers. Email a link to your tech blog with these three entries added to your instructor. Remember to include the link to the site AND a description of what can be found at the link. Use the descriptions on pages 80 and 87 of your text.
